Registration opens for re-enactors at Elim Woods Camp.
Please check in t the 3rd Iowa Artillery Headquarters Tent.
 
Saturday June 14th, 2008

Re-Enactors Skirmish and Recruitment Rally in
Downtown Elk Horn

Units Drilling at the Elim Woods Campsite
9am-1pm
Camp open to public

    Come see Living History Programs, Demonstrations
    Rope Making - Take your own with you
 
Play Games: For all ages, the Boy Scouts will be helping
    10:00 am - Horse Shoes
    10:30 am - Frying Pan Toss
    11:00 am - Building Camp Fire Race
    11:30 am - Pancake Toss Race

Lunch by the Museum, provided by the Kimballton Fire Department
1:00pm
At the open field north of  The Danish Immigrant
Museum, there will be a Civil War Era re-enactment
with mortar firing competition for artillery and live
action shooting demonstrations by cavalry and
infantry.
 
2:00pm Battle at the open field north of The Danish Immigrant Museum with speaker telling about the battle and other details of the time
3:00pm Fasion show of the times with tea and treats by The Lutheran Ladies.
This will be in the large tent by The Danish Immigrant Museum.
The Elim Woods Camp is open to public after the Battle.
Come see Living History Programs of the Civil War Area
and story telling.
 
5:30-6:30pm
Barbecue - At Elk Horn Fire Hall
7:00 pm
Dance at the big tent by The Danish Immigrant Museum with Ball demonstration and lessons. 
Music by The Chamber Pot Orchestra
The dance will be held at the Elk Horn school's 'old gym' if it rains.
8:00 pm
A Twilight Tour of the campsite with story telling at the Elim Woods Campsite.
This will be a moving play in the camp put on by the re-enactors.

Sunday June 15th, 2008

Breakfast - At the Kimballton Fire Hall for Father's Day
9am
Danish Church Service: By Pastor King and Pastor Mentor at the big tent by The Danish Immigrant Museum with coffee/tea and treats following the service by The Lutheran Ladies
10am-Noon
Camp open to public
    Come meet Abe Lincoln
    Come see Living History Programs, Demonstrations
    Rope Making - Take your own with you
11:30am-1:00pm
Lunch by the Museum provided by the Elk Horn Fire Department

*All the meals are provided by The Elk Horn Fire and Rescue Departments and The Kimballton Fire Department, so come out and support them for their efforts.
